Frequently asked

Questions about the models.

What is the M.A.R.K.O LID?

The M.A.R.K.O LID is the world's first anatomically precise, 3D-printed eyelid model. It contains 23 anatomical structures and up to 50 material blends, so surgeons can practise eyelid and blepharoplasty procedures with realistic tissue feel — reproducibly and independent of cadaver availability.

Who develops the EYELID Training models?

The models are developed by eyecre.at GmbH in Innsbruck, Austria, together with the Medical University of Innsbruck and technology partners including Stratasys, with funding from the Province of Tyrol. The project was initiated by Marko Konschake at the Medical University Hospital Innsbruck.

What can the models be used for?

They are used for surgical training and simulation in oculoplastic surgery — including blepharoplasty, tumour excision, flap reconstruction, canthal procedures and strabismus surgery. They are used at every station of the LidSUMMIT Tirol training course.

Do you offer institutional or bulk pricing?

Yes. For clinics, universities and residency programmes we offer institutional pricing and a turnkey training format with on-site setup and an international faculty network — the same proven model behind LidSUMMIT Tirol. Reach out via the contact page.

Where do you ship and how long does delivery take?

We ship worldwide. Standard delivery takes up to two weeks.

How are the models manufactured?

The models are 3D-printed using Stratasys PolyJet technology, with a layer resolution of 27 microns and full material control from cartilage to skin. This allows rare and complex pathologies to be reproduced consistently across every printed model.

FAQs

What is the M.A.R.K.O. LID made of?

The M.A.R.K.O. LID is a multi-layered, anatomically accurate 3D‑printed eyelid model created on a Stratasys J850 PolyJet system. It features 23 distinct anatomical structures, high surface texture, and full-color realism, based on up to 50 blended material combinations.

Where are the models developed and produced?

Both the M.A.R.K.O. LID and the KANTHO LID are developed and produced in Austria by Addion and eyecre.at. All models are created in close collaboration with leading experts in oculoplastic surgery and anatomical research, ensuring high medical relevance and production quality.

Who are these eyelid models intended for?

Both the M.A.R.K.O. and KANTHO LID are designed for medical professionals, surgical trainees, students, researchers, and product developers in ophthalmology, plastic surgery, medical education, and MedTech.

How should I store and handle the models?

Keep the models at room temperature for optimal realism. Cold temperatures can harden the material, and direct sunlight should be avoided due to the photoreactive components. For extended use and preservation, we recommend storing the eyelid models in a sealed container or plastic bag with a slightly moistened surface to maintain material flexibility. Both models are non-sterile and not for human use – for demonstration and training only.

Are the models reusable?

Yes. Both models are designed for repeated use under proper handling conditions. The M.A.R.K.O. LID, with its detailed anatomy, is particularly suited for advanced simulation and teaching settings. The KANTHO LID is durable for repeated canthoplasty training sessions.

Can I request a customized version of the model?

Yes. We offer custom adaptations of both the M.A.R.K.O. LID and the KANTHO LID for specific training scenarios, research setups, or product demonstrations. Whether you need adjustments in anatomy, material properties, or integration into a larger system – get in touch, and we’ll be happy to explore custom solutions with you.
